Kaori Fukunaga

Kaori Fukunaga is a senior director in Next Gen Partners and Incubation at NTT Data Corporation. Currently based in the Bay Area, Kaori is involved in startup exploration, technology validation, and partnerships with Next Gen Startups to expand digital business.

Kenji Kushida

Senior Fellow, Asia Program

Kenji E. Kushida is a senior fellow for Japan studies in Carnegie’s Asia Program, directing research on Japan, including a new Japan-Silicon Valley Innovation Initiative at Carnegie.

John V. Roos

John V. Roos is the founding partner at Geodesic Capital, a venture capital firm bridging Japan and Silicon Valley. From 2009-2013 he served as the United States Ambassador to Japan. In 2022, he was awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, the highest honor to be given to a foreign national.
