Edna Conway is CEO of EMC Advisors, providing board and advisory services to enterprises and governments globally on technology, security, risk management and supply chain resilience.  She previously served as Microsoft’s VP, Chief Security & Risk Officer for Cloud Infrastructure, responsible for the security, resiliency and governance of cloud infrastructure underpinning Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud business. Prior to joining Microsoft, Conway served as Cisco’s Chief Security Officer, Global Value Chain, advancing a comprehensive security architecture across Cisco’s third-party ecosystem.


Conway brings 40+ years of success creating new organizations and delivering cyber security, risk management, sustainability and value chain transformation to technology companies. Conway is an advisor to capital investment organizations and serves/served on dozens of  Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards for enterprises across a broad spectrum of technology products and services, including Attabotics, Critical Start, Design Mentor, Fusion Risk Management, ProcessUnity, and Drawbridge.  She also serves on the NYU Tandon School of Engineering Cyber Fellows Advisory Council, as a lecturer for the Carnegie Mellon University CISO Program and a Board Trustee for Gallaudet University.

A sought-after expert recognized domestically (Presidential Commissions) and globally (NATO), Conway was appointed to the Executive Committee of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Task Force on ICT Supply Chain Risk Management and serves on the Executive Committee of the US Critical Manufacturing Sector Coordination Council. She is a member of the Fortune Most Powerful Women community, a 2024 Global Cybersecurity Hall of Fame inductee, 2021 ISSA Hall of Fame inductee, and the recipient of numerous awards, including 2023 Institute for Critical Infrastructure Pinnacle Award, 2021 Executive Women’s Forum Executive of the Year, 2021 Top Cybersecurity Leaders (Security Magazine), Fed 100 Award, CSO of the Year Award at RSA, and Columbia University’s Barnard College Distinguished Alumna Award 2019. Her insights are regularly featured in leading publications, including ForbesFortuneBloombergCIO Magazine and the Wall Street Journal.

Prior to Microsoft and Cisco, Conway was a partner in an international private legal practice and served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Hampshire. She holds an AB from Barnard College of Columbia University, a law degree from the University of Virginia and additional credentials from MIT, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and New York University.
