Drawing from his new book, Between Two Fires: Truth, Ambition, and Compromise in Putin’s Russia, Joshua Yaffa, the Moscow correspondent for the New Yorker, will offer an engaging perspective on the life of Russians facing agonizingly difficult moral and personal choices.

Please join the Carnegie Endowment and the New Yorker’s Susan Glasser for a conversation about the lessons of life under modern authoritarianism. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signature at the event.
