- December 17, 2018 to December 19, 2018 | Bengaluru
The 2018 Global Technology Summit took place from December 17 to 19, at the Hotel Leela Palace, Bengaluru.
Building on the resounding success of the past two editions of the Global Technology Summit, held in 2016 and 2017, this year’s Summit focuses on the theme, Technology and Society: Getting the Balance Right.
As the debate on technology and its social impact makes headlines around the world, there is an urgent need to bridge the gap among industry, policymakers, and academic researchers. The Summit provides a collaborative platform for these crucial stakeholders to examine the impact of emerging technologies on society and discuss strategies to balance innovation and regulation.
KnowledgeTransfer@CarnegieIndia: Deconstructing Technology and Policy
In addition to the public conference, Carnegie India conducted workshops for students on December 17, 2018. The aim is to provide a platform for students to directly engage in conversations on and around the benefits and risks of emerging technologies.
The student-workshops at the Global Technology Summit 2018 are part of a new initiative called KnowledgeTransfer@CarnegieIndia. The aims of this initiative are simple. It is to provide a platform for a genuine exchange of ideas and more importantly an exchange of knowledge between students, practitioners, subject matter experts, and other interested audiences.
