Addressing Climate Change Through Innovation

Wed. June 21st, 2017
Washington, DC

Watch the event live beginning at 3:00 PM EST

The transition to a low-carbon economy after the Paris Agreement has been embraced by an unprecedented number of countries and thousands of subnational groups. International consensus holds that the Paris Agreement is a vital instrument for growing economies and curtailing global warming despite the United States’ stated intention to withdraw from it. The EU, moreover, remains steadfast in its determination to fully implement the Paris Agreement.

In the context of the annual EU Climate Diplomacy Day, the Delegation of the European Union to the United States of America and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace are pleased to host a discussion on current trends in innovation and economically sound decarbonization efforts across key sectors. World Bank Group CEO Kristalina Georgieva will keynote.

A reception will follow.
